Turkey Creek is just a short drive, or the
nearby outlet malls in Pigeon Forge.
The Cities of Maryville and Alcoa built and manage an extensive trail system
linking 3 parks, and providing miles of paved and lighted trails perfect for
walkers, joggers, bikers, roller-bladders and more. Much of the trail borders
a rambling creek or is shaded by mature trees. Outdoor play equipment and
plenty of benches for resting or feeding the ducks dot the trail system.
Public tennis and basketball courts are also available.

Public access to TVA managed Fort Loudon Lake is plentiful, or you can fish
in the Little River in Southeastern Blount County. Fort Loudon Lake is also
popular with boaters, skiers, swimmers and more. Townsend, the "quiet side
of the "Smokies" offers passage into Cades Cove and the Great Smoky
Mountains. Additionally, the Foothills Parkway offers breathtaking panoramic views of
Maryville. The uncompleted portions of the Parkway are closed to vehicles
and are ideal for
bicycling and hiking, offering equally spectacular views.
Nearby Knoxville boasts a
zoo, art museum, symphony orchestra, two theater
companies,
the 1982 World's Fair Park,
Tennessee Smokies
Baseball, and is home to the
University of Tennessee
Volunteers.
